Organ sounds on MODX
« on: March 14, 2020, 04:39:15 PM »
Just bought Yamaha MODX for my daughter. The organ sounds
make the Genos organ sound like a toy. Is there a way to get MODX
organ module sounds into genos????

For organs.. amd many other sounds,..

There is an $800 module named GSI Gemini..
Inside is the VB3 ii engine, also used in the Crumar
And 19 other engines, including 2 more organ engines (farfisa/combo)
It also ha sthe best dp’s available in hardware..

Evevn better organs then the modx from yamaha are in the YC61..

You can get decent B3 sounds from the Genos with some edditing
But its hard to make them as realistic as the competition..
But they do sound good..

Edditing synths (and genos) is a synth, espescially subtractive synthesis like awm2, works like taking away things from the orriginal, so if certain harmonics are not in the orriginal sample/oscilator, you can never add them reliably.. you can try with some dsp effects.. but thats more like gambling and hoping ti get a good result.. the Genos B3 samples lack some of the harmonics of the orriginal B3.. i havent found a way to bring them back...
