Single note detune
« on: February 28, 2020, 08:10:55 AM »
Hello everyone - is there a way to detune a single note or group of notes by 1/2 steps to a different note?  I tried saving the voice as an edit with the keyboard tuned up 1 step and it still saved in concert key.  I need an extra note for a run and the top of the keyboard.

Thank you:)

You can do that with the pitchband controller
Use the  half noot or whole noot settting for the pitchband
You can try it with the pitchband controller by hand
or write a data number in te track on the pitchband controller event

Do you need all the notes in sequence for your run, or is there an interval before the top one?

I'm thinking you could create an R3 split of the top key only, and apply +ve tuning to R3 only, then save as a registration. I'm not sure if this will let you shift R3 up enough to reach your note though.

It's also possible to do something similar by setting up a sub-scale, again applied to R3 only. It will let you go +50 cents.

Melissa, is this for live playing or a recording?
"Learn" your music correctly, then "practice" it. Don't practice mistakes because you'll learn them.

There is also a portamento controller
It let you slide from one note to a note higher or lower

Hello all, it's for live playing.  Not sure where in the manual this is addressed.  Yes the top note if keyboard but I already have 3splits.   Or can I simply detune the r3 only? I tried to save the sound transposed and it didn't work.

The arranger and the pannel voices don't react om midi controllers
or you can use the xg reset
It is done by Yamaha to avoid copy or change the yamaha files and perf.
But after recording to a midi file you can edit the file

It should work if saved as a registration, as long as you tick transpose when saving. It won't work if just saving as a voice.

You can save Right one ,two and three to different octaves by using voice settings. Once you have it set to how you want it save to a registration button and then make sure the save the bank again.

You can also detune the part you want in the keyboard without using the YEM, select a part R1, R2 or R3....simply touch R1 in main screen, then Menu, then Voice Setting then in the drop window gives you a choice of 3 things you can change:
In TUNE you can use Tuning you go per say 50cents, or the amount you wish, you can also change the Octave from -2-1-0+1+2 of each of the parts and finally the portamento range you wish to have.....

I that page also have Voice Set Filter and also S.A.2 and Arpeggio

My 2 cents.
