Hi

I was wondering why no one
Is posting there song any more
As I love to hear how people
Play I just hope it's not through
Torbens comments but we all
Have opinions whether good or bad
It shouldn't stop people playing
We all have to learn.       Jim

ibrox2. The main reason is shared files are no longer allowed to be loaded directly on the forum because of server overload.

Administrators have asked members to use a cloud sharing program like google drive or similar.

COPIED from early administrator message.
Sharing Material

Beginning January 1, 2020, members who wish to share material such as midi files, music sheets, style files, etc. with other members should upload that material to their personal online storage account and then share the link to this material in a forum topic or reply.  Members have been sharing MP3s with this method for several years.  Members should not upload files, in topics or replies, as attachments, which would be stored on the forum server.  Exception to this rule would be photos or text files, which are beneficial for visual instruction.

There are many online storage services available, some of which are free.  A few examples of online storage services are as follows: Microsoft OneDrive, Box.com, Google Drive, etc.

While the date for this new procedure doesn't begin until January 1, 2020, it would be wise to start uploading files in this manner now, which should help everyone with the transition when this requirement begins.

We are still posting songs😀 We have for a long time used file sharing services when posting songs, so the reason for fewer postings is not that. I also love to listen to songs by other members. You can also go to the performers section. Much good music by members there.😀

There have always been highs and lows in the number of posted songs. I don’t think the change in policy is an issue because as posted above, most people always posted using file sharing services.
I think the main reason for fall off is that only the same few people generally listen or comment on posted songs.
