Batch editing of registration files
« on: January 21, 2020, 06:32:05 AM »
Hi,

I did this cardinal mistake of saving some style and multipad files on my user drive of Genos (instead of the 64GB pendrive) and I am repenting as I have 100s of registrations linked to those files in the user area. Backing up the pendrive is easy but backing us user drive is so painful. More so because I have an SX900 too and want both the instruments to be exact replica of each other.

Please let me know if there is a software for batch editing of all registrations on my Genos which can move the reference of styles, pads and voices from the user area to a particular folder in pendrive. (I am sure there is one, but forgetting its name)

Also, since we are here, can somebody suggest a decent file structure to store all files in the pendrive.  I have the following structure for my pendrive

0 ALL STYLES
    A-C
    D-J
    K-P
    Q-Z

0 PAD
0 Rex Styles
0 Song REG
0 VOICE REG
Audio Styles
Best Styles
Free Styles
lyrics in txt files
Midi Songs
Recorded voices
STYLE COLLECTIONS
Styles to check
WAV STYLES

I put a zero in the name of the folders which I want in the first.

Thanks in advance

Regards

Anand

You could use Yamaha Registration Manager made by Murray Best.

You'll find all about it here:  https://psrtutorial.com/util/best.html

Download the updated version of the program here:

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think either of these suggested programs support the SX900 yet. But I may be wrong.

In this video, you can see how to rearrange multiple Banks and set up a USER location for a USB stick. After that, Banks should be converted for SX900 and 10 registrations should be allocated to 8.

A more detailed explanation of the Yamaha Registration Manager program can be found on the Styles-24 website-Tutoriais/Videos. It is in German. But with subtitles on it is very easy to follow. The demo is divided into different lessons. So that all options of the program are covered.

link to te website and YRM.
