Expansion Memory
« on: January 15, 2020, 12:12:37 AM »
Hi

Can the user memory or the USB21 memory be used to story Expansions. My 3gb is running out of room.

Thank You

Have you updated your firmware to version 2.01?

No, the wave samples within an expansion pack can only go into the 3GB internal memory.

Styles go in the User memory so can be transferred to USB.

I understood that the 2.x firmware update expands the 3GB to 6GB, but my brain started working before the end of WW2, so could be some "wires crossed" in the interim!  ;D

I think 2.x increased the amount of expansion memory from about 1.8 to 3 GB. I think I read this was possible by reducing the amount of internal reserved space for Audio drum styles.

Audio Drums do not have that much memory allotted to them so this would not be the case.

Well i haven't heard any other explanation for the almost doubling of memory other than a substantial increase in the compression of the voice samples.
