Hello DerekA,
your explanation was very helpful to me. The value on the OLED display will only match the value of the touch-screen if the slider or knob controls a single Parameter.
I thought that the sliders and knobs would simplify the control of the mixer, because I find beneficial to have a quick access to the mixer (volume, pans, reverb...) at all time. Sure, they can do that, but only a reduced amount of parameters are controlled. I wish that Yamaha would implement the possibility to get the faders and knobs assigned easily to what is displayed on a Mixer page. And if I change the page, the parameters change also. This might require adding some "selection" buttons directly on the side of the screen, to select 2 rows of parameters to control. Another idea would be to replace the physical sliders and knobs by a second touch-screen dedicated 100% to the mixer. IMHO there is too much "touch" required with the unique screen of this instrument. The new PSR-SX900 for example has many shortcuts to access directly specific areas of the mixer, plus the "Mixer" button cycles through the pages : very useful improvements.
