PSR-S910 keys not sounding
« on: November 30, 2019, 06:46:29 PM »
Hi all. I have a 910, I guess almost 10 years old and recently developed an issue with 3 consecutive keys not working. One does sound if hit hard. Anyone have experience with this issue? Hopefully just contacts dirty or something. I want to fix it because I might trade it in for a SX700. Does anyone know the value of a used 910?

Almost certainly a failure of the rubber contact strip under the keys.  If you have to replace it you might replace all while you're at it.  The strips are not expensive but opening and re-closing the case is not a task you want to do more than once.  If you are handy this might help:  https://psrtutorial.com/lessons/workshops/ServiceManuals/PSR-S710-S910_ServiceManual.pdf    else you'll have to take it to a technician.

And you'd have to give your location if you want a value! Country, at the very least.

Here in the UK, they've been selling privately for around £500 to £600, a bit more sometimes.
It's not what you play, it's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

I finally got around to opening the 910 and did find some sticky substance on the circuit board. I cleaned well and the rubber contacts and all is well now. Thanks for your help.
