Yamaha PSR 2100 Flickering Sound Issue
« on: November 13, 2019, 04:12:02 PM »
Hi All,

When I switch on the Yamaha PSR 2100,I get a disturbing highly flickering sound.
The noise goes of when I turn off the DSP switch.
When I switch on the DSP and play keyboard the noise is high.

When I leave the keyboard switched on for 10 mins everything gets to normal and keyboard is working fine without any noise.

Seems that when the keyboard gets heated up it comes to normal.

Can anyone help this. I guess some thing about, bad capacitors. When they heat up the keyboard starts working as normal.
Please advise.

Sounds like some component is wearing out. I have a 2100 too. Talk to someone at a Yamaha certified repair shop and ask what it will cost you for them to have a look at it. I fear it will be costly, and parts for this model are no longer produced. I hope your 2100 holds up. It is a great keyboard even if it was released in 2003!
