Hi all,

I am trying to create my first own voice using YEM.
I am using a WAV file that I loaded into YEM and then I set some parameters for it.

After installing, the voice plays fine on the keyboard, but at the end of the wav file it stops playing even when I am still holding the note (the key).
And I do not want the sound to stop until I release the key. I kind of want it to loop until I release the key.

I have looked for a setting in YEM to change this, but I did not find anything.

Can anybody help me with this ?

Thanks
Best regards

This has to be a function in YEM and not using additional software, I think ;)

Just in case it's not clear.

You can't change it in YEM.

You have to edit your wave in an external program to add loop markers. Then import the looped wave to YEM.

Derek is spot on. If you need a free PC-based wave editor that works with YEM, find a copy of Yamaha's Tiny Wave Editor (TWE).

Believe it or not, loop markers are not standardized. TWE works. (I've used it.)

Thanks guys!

Works fine now!

I have used the program suggested by Norman, but I will definitely also try out TWE.

Researching a bit about it yesterday, I ended up discovering in Reaper another very simple alternative to create loop points and I'm here to share it with you. For users who are used to using this DAW, it will definitely help!
Basically, just create the regions in the software. You make the time selection and create two regions from the selected span, used to indicate the start point and the end point.
Then, when rendering the file as a wave, ask Reaper to include only those regions in the file.
Soundfont player software and most likely TYEM and keyboard will understand these regions as loop points.
I tested this in bassmidi by creating an sfz file with a line of opcode indicating the wave to play and it actually looped.
I think this is the easiest way.

I didn't get to test it , but I don't know if YEM will interpret loop files in "Wav acid" format that could accompany the keyboard's master bpm. This would allow the creation of synchronized loops.

Hi.
There is also a known (best in my opinion) voice converter, named Awave Studio, from FMJSoft. With this software you can edit each sample. It is a powerful software for converting and editing voices/samples.
You can convert from a large list of voice types or you can create a new one from scratch, importing wave files, creating layers, setting loop points, and so on. Export as SF2, import in YEM and use the new voice in your Genos :)
The license is only 80 Euros / 95 USD (VAT not included for EU)
