How to connect SX to computer
« on: October 19, 2019, 11:18:21 AM »
Hi, I'm struggling (after reading the manuals and Computer Related Operations manual) to get a connection SX-(Windows)Computer to explore the USB-HD of the SX (USB-to-Host connection). I remembered something about restart the KB with hold on certain knobs, but can't find it?
T.i.a.
My best regards,
Ton

Stupid question maybe, Ton, but ... did you install your Yamaha driver ?  ::)
Does your computer recognize this driver ?

Good luck, Babette

On Genos it is called 'USB storage mode'.

You switch on the keyboard, while holding down the 'playlist' button.

It is not mentioned in the SX manuals though, so it probably is not supported on those keyboards.

Best regards

Hi, yes I have installed the Yam-driver. When I am on midi, than the DAW reacts. I tried what @Reya suggested, but no luck. Mmm.. maybe you're right Rudy and it is not possible?
Thanks
My best regards,
Ton

If you read the manual, it tells you to use the MUSICSOFT DOWNLOADER program on you PC.

That appears to be the only way.

Thanks Bill, you're absolute right. Thanks for showing me the way..  ;) I have overlooked what one can do with this programm, as I was searching to connect the SX throught the windows explorer. I thought Musicsoft Downloader was only for installing their products. Quit easy for file management  ;).
