Discovered a cool feature on the Genos, what is it called?
« on: October 12, 2019, 12:16:50 AM »
Hello Genos playing friends!
Today I played a Genos, and discovered something cool that, as far as I know, is not on my Tyros5: When I played chords gently in the styles section the volume was stable, but if I played the chords a little roughly, the volume increased noticably. What is this feature called, and is it maybe somewhere on my T5 too. Or was it maybe a bug on the demo?

On the Genos, it's call Dynamics Control (Menu>Style Setting).

The same feature was on the T4, and therefore presumably on the T5,  but I can't remember the name.

Cheers,

I seem to remember on Tyros 5 you could put the touch sensitivity on the Style which gave a similar effect.

Hi Toril,

The equivalent to Genos style 'Dynamics Control' function on a Tyros5 is called 'Style Touch', although the dynamic range is not adjustable like it is on Genos.

It is accessed by pressing :

FUNCTION > STYLE SETTING/SPLIT POINT/CHORD FINGERING > Tab to STYLE SETTING

Use the #4 buttons to turn the function on or off.

Page 29 of the Tyros5 Reference Manual says the following about it...

STYLE TOUCH: Turns touch response for the Style playback on/off. When this is set to “ON,” the Style
volume changes in response to your playing strength in the chord section of the keyboard.

Ian

Recently loaded SX900 styles into my T5 76 and the STYLE-TOUCH was set by default.

I like it, but not for all songs. Is there a way to assign this to a button? I can’t seem to find a way.
Thanks
