Not something i use, but MANY of my friends do on Tyros!! so might be a deal breaker for them.
AS AN EASY OPTION -
I imagine you can simply save the same tempo to registration/playlist medley to overcome this, so maybe that's why it has not been seen to be included. might also even be in a buried menu somewhere?

To get to it on Genos you go to Menu, Style Setting, Change behaviour, and set what you want to do with Tempo.
Do you have similar on the SX?

See the reference manual, page 12/13

Menu > Style setting > Change behaviour > Tempo > Lock or Hold

Just noticed it is an option on one of the 6 function buttons...very handy for some people who do use this ....very clever Yamaha, so its not a wasted main function button if you dont ever use it.
ps...I see there is a 'freeze' actually ?? perhaps i should check it out

For finding "hidden stuff" on any model press Direct Access and the button you want.
You want the style to behave somehow,so press Direct Access+Main A.
The Direct Access button helps a lot instead of searching everything on the menu.
