Wow!! That sounded really impressive Eileen and really well played. It sounds as though this new keyboard has a very smooth, clear sound. It would be interesting to know if this is due to the new speaker units and revised amplifiers or to improved digital processing internally. In other words does it sound better than say a 970 on headphones or external sound system.  Regards Stuart L

It won’t be the speaker, because sing files are recorded internally.

    That,s lovely Eileen.
How much have you adjusted the r.h. voices from ‘out of the box’? .   I still play with PSR900. so I would feel a BIG difference.😉
Ahh well, dream on,  ha ha
      All the best,
                         Cheers,   Alan

Hi Eileen
Sounded very good. Was this a style built in or one that you tuned?

Thanks everyone. The style used is an onboard one called Smooth Pop Ballad.
I always like to add reverb and DSP to my voices when making registration banks. I don't use OTS very often as I prefer my own choice. All I can say is that it is a very nice keyboard to play and sounds really good. Pleased you liked the song.

 :)Hi Eileen

Nice relaxed recording using that smooth pop ballad.   Have not heard that style played very often so enjoyed getting
acquainted with those nuances.   Even though a sad song,  good choice for a demo.
Congrats again and thanks for posting a song so quick.

cheers

Thank you Elaine,
I chose that song because it is one I can play by ear and it popped into my head whilst going through the styles I know we have it on Genos but have not used it very often.

Hi Eileen, that was lovely as your playing always is and your new keyboard sounded very well also. It could easily earn it's nickname as a baby Genos.

Thank you Bill,
Yes the SX900 is very compatible with Genos but is a keyboard in its own right. Obviously it will never be a Genos and dose not have many of the features on Genos but having said that it is still a very nice keyboard to play.
Pleased you liked what you heard.

congratulations Eileen,
it sounds like the sx900 will be a big hit , I still have the T4 as well as the psr 970 I only wish I could all the pop ahs and o,s and dowap multi pads on this new keyboard,I at this point in my life will only buy the lower priced keyboards such as the sx900 but I would love to have those multi pads , does the sx900 have them?

I knew the SX had them, Eileen. Thanks for aknowledge it. I haven't controlled this when I played the Demo-model. As if they are the same as on the Genos, then I could replay/rerecord this Song (from the Genos) and play it on the SX900 … nice  ;)

That was a pro level recording, the sax was the best, maybe a little more reverb but very well played.

Great number E.
Ironically its one I play also by ear, it has stuck in the 'grey matter' ( key of C !! ) since i gigged for 'free and easy' in the clubs in the 70's.

I am looking forward to getting the SX900
I have been waiting for a PSRs with some Genos features, so it will be good for me, as genos was a tad long for my living space being 76 and the inbilt speakers will be great

Thanks for your help and feedback over the years - I remember buying your T4 dvd years ago !!  we have never met, I just bob around in the background reading the threads.

Hi Elein, thanks for your beautiful and well played song to let us hear in a quick recording how it sounds on the SX900. You have published that song in a MP3-format. As I remembered one could also make a WAV-recording, am I right? Is the 'normal' procedure to record it first via the MIDI-recording. Than that MIDI-recording can be rerecorded as MP3 or WAV? It seems that a WAV recording has less data-loss than a MP3-recording (Should sound better/clearer)? But wether one can hear the difference, I don't know?
That's why I ask you, if possible, could you publish your recording in WAV-format?
T.i.a.
My best regards,
Ton

Hi  Ton the actual recording is done direct to MP3. Just the same as you would do an audio recording to WAV. You select from WAV or three different quality MP3 settings before you record. You can still record to midi first and then play it into the audio recorder but I recorded this one directly to MP3.n the I have just posted another song in the performers section using just style and OTS.
