Do they expect to sell any at that pricelevel?
As I can see at webpages here in Western Europe just now, the prices are about the same level as it has been a while, aprox US$ 4400
Not cheap that either, but i.e. Ketron is in fact far higher priced than Genos nowadays.

I suspect that this may be the result of tariffs. I noticed that the price of the MX-88 also went up; it used to be $999, now it's $1099, which is a 10% increase.

With these keyboards, it's like buying a darn car, you have to negotiate that price down by a third.

I also noticed that the Sx900 is listed cheaper ($2200) than what my S950 ($2500) was listed for back in 2012. What a deal that one is.

Here the price is 6000 NOK more than my S975. So I opted for the Genos instead! Got a good deal on it.

With all due respect to this website, there are better options with better pricing. There's no price increase from Yamaha but rather companies will price increase based on trends.

I got my Genos + Stand + Speakers +Pedal +Free Shipping = 4100$

Today you can get this package for around 3900$ (Especially on the holidays)

Also, you will find used Genos in brand new condition online for 3800 - 4200$

The Yamaha USA web site shows the same MSRP $6799USD as the day of release. Perhaps Yamaha raised the Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) as shown on the Sweetwater site and other on-line retailers.

All on-line dealers must advertise the same MAP as set by their dealer agreement with Yamaha. They can sell Genos at a lower price, but must advertise at MAP. That is why a Genos customer in the USA should always call different dealers and see what actual price they can get. For example, I called Frank at Audioworks CT and received a fair deal. (I'm a repeat Audioworks CT customer, BTW.)

Sweetwater buys some number of units just to have them in stock. They are so large and sell so much other gear that SW can wait and hold its price at MAP without much financial consequence. That's why you may (will!) find a better deal through a smaller, more flexible dealer.

A&C Hamiltons have Genos new at £3069 or 3940 USD  with no speakers or stand,others have Genos for around £3600 0r $4600 with speakers and stand

Current price at thomann.de is 3695€. If I remember correctly, the price has been lower (around 3400€?) before?

The price in Thomann varied depending on the tax of the country to which they send Genos. My Croatia has a big tax of 25%.
