Topic: My Problem with the Genos!

I'd like to hear from other players as to the different ways they use the features of the Genos to best advantage because I'm sure many have run into the same situation I have. Namely, I don't (or don't want to) hold down chords or roots of chords with my left hand to get the accompaniment to play the proper harmonic transitions. The styles are great, and the ability to modify them better still, but I want to find the most expedient way of using them, yet still play independently with my left hand. My thinking is to use a MIDI track to control the accompaniment so I can maintain the ability to play whatever I want with my hands. I'm having problems doing this, however. Can anyone tell me if they've separated the Left section of the keyboard from the style accompaniments, or what would be the best way to accomplish this type of playing? Unfortunately, I don't have hours to experiment, and no sense in reinventing the wheel anyway, if someone's already doing this. Thanks!!

I use computer software to making backing tracks
Xgworks is perfect, it got a build in arranger working with yamaha styles
you can make a chordtrack with a style
Set the variations, intros and endings
Make a midi file from it
Remix the midi file with effects, volume settings,pan

Now you can play with both hands
make a split on the keybord
So  i can play the bass left and right the Melodie and chords
set the left bass track on mono to avoid double bass notes

I haven't ever used them, as my skill level isn't up to par, but have you tried the 'full' keyboard chord recognition?  Would that do what you want?

Full keyboard, or better still AI full keyboard, is a good way to allow playing more conventionally with both hands. But it really only works well with a restricted range f voices- things like piano, electric piano, organ, maybe Classic guitar.
But having said that, I dont find LH chording all that restrictive, especially with AI settings.

i also try to use the full keyboard mode
it gives not the full freedom in playing
you have to play it very computer like with chord chances on the right time
