Read Audio Styles from USB
« on: July 07, 2019, 07:25:26 AM »
Hello

Audio styles can be read from USB. I try it and it work on Genos at least. I don't know if it s working on other yamaha keyboard (Tyros and PSR) You have to save the Audio style from your install Pack on Genos on a USB stick. Then after that you can use it on USB stick and deleted the Audio styles from the Genos Flash Expansion Memory. The memory are free but until the next YEM or Genos Update this cannot be used for further space memory. (1,7 to 4 GB).

Could someone please test the Audio Styles on other Keyboard and tell us if these could be export (Save ) on USB stick like the Genos allow to ? Tyros 3,4,5 and PSR S750,770,775, S950,970,975.
The Audio styles are with extension ".aus" and size is always bigger than 10 Mb.
Thanks for reply

It is only Genos that allows you to do this and save the Audio styles else ware. This is because Genos no longer has Audio drums as they have been replaced by Revo drums which most people prefer.
You can not save Audio Styles from any other keyboard.

Thanks Eileen for the reply.
My last question is : Can PSR S serie read Audio Styles from USB ? It would be good for those Keyboards because of the flash memory for Audio styles.

Change thé audiostyle from extension
Aus to sty and thé psr975 read it from USB.

If so that means other psr i mean PSR S750,775, 950 can read it to from a USB wenn it s change to .sty files ?
If so then it s cool for this mid-range Keyboard. Sadly the  Audio styles from PSR s975 cannot be save and play on Genos. I change my psr s970 to genos and i really love this. But i miss some Audio styles from the PSR S970 that is not on Genos. "R&BSlowBallad","Industrialchilli", "EasyBeat" and "Salsa Gran Cyclon" wich are not on Genos  :-[ :-[
but anyways it s good and i hope Yamaha could make more free space avalaible on the memory to load more expansion Pack in Sampling memory.

Yes the audiostyle plays only on Psr975 or 970 keyb who can play audiostyles, if you save the audiostyle from a Psr and change the ext to (aus)
its possible that can play on the Genos, i dont know , dont have a Genos.
Regards.

But the preset styles cannot be transferred to an USB stick. So how can you change the ectension. I just tried this, and my Tyros said the audio style cannot be copied to USB device. I am not happy with this audio style business! But that is me, others love them :)

Hi Toril :

I absolutely prefer midi styles.
They can be exported and edited easily.

I wonder if the sound of these audio styles is so much better than the sound of midi styles ?
I do not hear important differences ... do you ?
Maybe my ears are not that good anymore.😻

I can understand other people have a different taste though.

Anyway, audio styles do not impress me.💤

Best wishes,

Babette

The difference is not flagrant but somepeople prefer the audio drums because it s deeper und softer but not always. Revo Drums sound good to and i just choose from the two variant wich one i want to play with. There are some style that i used to play with on psr s970, but now on Genos they are not avalaible and this is sad. Perhaps in a later update or Expansion Pack

It is only  the drum kit that is Audio. If you like the rest of the style content then select a midi style who's drums are similar and go to style creator and copy the instrumental parts from the Audio Style  You will then be able to move it and save to USB. You will need to do this to all sections of the style so it will take a while but it is a way of getting what you want.
On Genos there are no Audio styles but on the Yamaha download site all the Audio styles are there to download and they can be saved and used from USB if required. Some of these styles are now on Genos but with Revo Drums.

Hi
Can you not get a preset style and use Jørgen Sørensen's  STYLE UNLOCKER.    http://www.jososoft.dk/yamaha/
I think if you use that, then save to user, then editing is possible
If that is so i assume you could put and audio drum track on it and save as a user style and put on USB is you wish.

All the Best
john :)
