Hello from Holland
« on: June 23, 2019, 11:12:40 AM »
Hi everyone,

My name is Qui Robinez and i live in Holland. I'm a long time lurker of this forum, it has great discussions but i didn't subscribe earlier because i didn't have a Yamaha Keyboard. But that has changed now and i bought the Yamaha Genos and will try to see what i can do with it.

I create sounds and tutorials for many synthesizers and keyboards (like the korg pa4x). I hear so many great tunes on youtube that i couldn't resist to buy the genos also. I already created some expansion packs for the genos for my own use to see what i could do with it. To my surprise it was an easy process with the YEM software (and the help of SampleRobot).

I hope to join the conversations on this forum and would like to say hello to everyone on this forum.

Hello Qui,
I welcome you to this forum and am sure you will do great things for many of us.
I am making an assumption that you have imputed a huge amount of tutorials for many years on Youtube(see this link)

https://www.youtube.com/user/qrobinez.

Your tuts have benefited me  so much and I think I once spoke of you as "The diamond amongst the stones."
I feel that your ability to create beautiful sounds for the Kronos are superior to anything else I have heard on Youtube  and I wish to thank you for your dedication to music which has benefited many thousands of keyboard players all over the world.
Thankyou from

Mike.

Thank you all for the warm welcome here!

@Mikk, your assumption is right, i created those tutorials and sound sets. I'm planning to do the same for the genos and pa4x (i already released a free sound set for the pa4x called melliflous). Right now i'm in the learning process of the genos and creating sounds on it. It's not hard to do, but since it doesn't really have a full synthesis engine i have to be more creative on the sampling side. I'm doing all kind of tests now to see what works and what doesn't work. I already created a few packs (like a new piano, but also new dance sounds and even a beginning with an eighties library to see if can achieve the sound quality i'm looking for). The first results are very good and the sound from the voices i created are sounding quite different then the factory sounds so it looks like the complement eachother quite well.

So in the next months i will try to achieve the same quality sound sets as the sets i created for the kronos, pa4x, virus ti, jp8000 and so on.

There is a lot of information on this site so it helped me several times to achieve things in the past few days. This is a great forum!

Good to have you on board Qui.

Loved your tutorials for the Kronos..
I think Genos and an 88 Kronos make a perfect combination..

thank you bachus and beykock,

i remember you from posts that you made in synthzone where you posted some of pa4x synth sound design examples from my channel. Thanks for that.

For me the Genos and the Access virus TI are the perfect combination, but it depends a lot on which style of music you play i think.
