« on: May 20, 2019, 03:46:26 PM »
Hi. Anyone can tell me what the difference there is when playing a midi file to my keyboard Tyros 2 sending to Workstation 1 instead that on Workstation 2?
Thank in advance. Aldus

"Workstation" isn't a term I'm familiar with. Do you mean Lineout?

For my Tyros 4 and Genos when they are connected via USB to the PC :
Workstation 1 -> send to Midi A
Workstation 2 -> send to Midi B
Manual Tyros 2 page 218 shows the Transmission/Reception over USB or Midi.
USB can send or receive from Midi A but can only send to Midi B.

I suppose for Tyros 2 this should be the same ?

Thanks for the answer.
I think so but the two channels sounds different....
What's the use to send on different channel on one keyboard?
Or maybe is that to connect 2 keyboard with two midi cable?

I think you should study your Tyros 2 manual from page 110 about MIDI.
All the MIDI settings can be set in the Tyros 2 (Receive/Transmit).

The use of the Midi connections can be very different and depends on what you want to achieve.
Examples (direct midi connections not USB):
You can connect a MFC10 footpedal to one of the midi inputs (A or B).
You can connect a midi module to one of the midi connections.

Myself I use the Midi A and B connected to a Arduino processor board.
Input from A or B can be send to A or B (depends on what I program the Arduino for).

For each use the Midi settings on the Tyros2 need to be set correctly.
