Question on transferring reg files to new keyboard
« on: May 23, 2019, 12:34:14 PM »
Hi there

I'm getting a PSR S975 in a few weeks and wondered if my registration files from my PSR S710 on USB will play the same on the new keyboard without the need to change anything? Thanks

Unlikely. You should plan to convert them using Murray Best's Registration Manager.

My first recommendation is to try them, as my S900 registrations opened on the S970.

Second recommendation is if you use YRM to convert your registrations, set the target keyboard as a 950.  There were sections added in the 970 that aren't in the earlier  banks, and if the registration is set to 970, the keyboard will expect the new parts are already there. This can cause some unexpected results.
