1) I am about to buy a Tyros 5 but is there any way I can check in its software for how much it has been used in the past?
2) I want to use a foot switch for Tyros 5 for when I change style variations so kindly suggest me which one I should get. Also will VM24 Footswitch & Boss FS-5U Footswitch work well with Tyros 5.

1. Not that I know of. What would be more important is how the instrument was treated. Was it in a quiet home environment all the time, or gigging every day?
2. I would use a the Yamaha FC4 footswitch.
Cheers,
Fred.

Almost any footswitch, assuming the quality is OK, will do fine. Just make sure it has a polarity switch. I have an FC4 and a Nectar NP-1. The Nectar costs less and feels better when using it.

I use 2 Fc4 foot-switches on my Tyros 5 and have found them excellent ( home used keyboard only not giging ) a solid and robust switch.
