Yamaha PSA-975 will soon be released!
« on: April 01, 2019, 12:55:33 PM »
Yamaha will soon release the PSA-975. This will not be a keyboard, but an electronic accordion. The difference between the PSA-975 and other el. accordions on the marked is that the PSA-975 will contain a full style engine, with all the styles present in the PSR-975 keyboard. In effect, this will be a keyboard, but in the small, practical and portable form of an accordion. Yamaha have noticed that electrical accordions are becoming more and more popular, and are now releasing the most advanced instrument of this type on the market. They believe that many keyboard players will see this new instrument not only as a great addition to their keyboards, but many will indeed see it as a replacement. The PSA-S975 will be presented at the Musikkmesse.

Toril, as I understand it this is actually part of a whole new line of instruments from Yamaha, where traditional acoustic instruments are paired up with the style technology.

The next two on the schedule are the PSX-S975 (xylophone) and the PST-S975  (a trumpet).

If these sell well, more will follow.

Also, Genos firmware 1.4 has been postponed until this new line is established.

Ooooo! Derek!  I think you may have just spoiled a lot of Genos owners morning coffee (tea) ! ! !  I do hope this is not just an April fool's joke!

Toril

Since your first musical love was an accordion, do you anticipate getting one of these instruments?
