Grand Piano Expansion Pack for free
« on: February 17, 2019, 11:30:39 AM »
Hi friends,

I've decided to create a small Piano Expansion for you.
It contains 2 Grand Piano voices.

The Simple Steinway piano is the same sound i've shared before but with some smaller modifications.
There is also a new piano voice called Clean Grand Piano.

If you compare them The Simple Steinway is a more emotional/warm/soft and cinematic kind of Piano.
While the Clean Grand Piano is more clean, bright, and full Piano voice.

I think they are the perfect start for those who looking for a realistic piano sound.
considering the size (52 mb for both) you can't get better pianos.

Only 1 layer (1 Element) but you can hear different velocities depending on how hard or soft you hit the keys.
This is very easy to achieve by changing the Cutoff sense (Touch Sense) in the Filter section.

Size:
Simple Steinway 25.4 mb
Clean Grand Piano 26.4 mb

Please let me know if you have any thoughts, comments or suggestions of this Expansion.

I think i'm going to make some Electric Piano voices as well when i've got time.

Regards, Jan.

Thank you for sharing these two piano voices. From quick check, both sound nice and natural to me. And what's important is, one can hear the difference at once. I'll keep both  :)

Hello, Jan,

Thanks a lot! These sounds are awesome! Specially the Steinway, regarding his weight. Now I understand why I don't like the Genos piano: I don't hear the room in it, but I hear the room in yours.

Here are 2 tries of your Steinway on the Genos.

Hi Jan,

I agree to this. Using touch sense for cutoff frequency is used by many preset voices and results in a smooth transition. When using 3 or 5 or 7 velocity layers without filter sense, you always have hard changes between the layers that do not sound well.

Jan, the dropbox link seems to not work any more? Can you give us a new link?

Kind regards
Uli
