Editing Recorded Midi Tracks Volumes ?
« on: February 07, 2019, 03:18:32 AM »
I am gradually making some headway recording midis using the multitrack option.  Now I could use  some help re editing or adjusting the volumes of some of the tracks.  I cannot seem to find how to solve this.  Is there a screen on the Genos that will permit this function like it is on the mixer page? Thank you.  Reg

You can do some editing in the Mixer display, touch the [Song 1-8] tab or [Song 9-16] tab.

See page 86 of the Owner's manual.

One good thing about music; when it hits you, you feel no pain.

In multi track song record press the step edit tab at the top of the screen. This will now show you the events page of all tracks. On the left you will see it defaults to Ch1. Press this and there are three drop down pages with all the tracks on including Sys Ex. Select one and press OK. Now you can edit all events to your liking including Volume DSP Panning Reverb voice and others. When finished press Save.
It is very easy to do.

Well I am still unable to make volume changes to a recorded midi  on my Genos.   I have tried the step edit option and can bring up the channel numbers 1,2  etc.  but cannot get any further. I read and re-read the manuals and the posts on this topic.  I am unable to save volume changes made on the mixer. I attempt to save the changes but loading another midi and coming back to the one that was changed reverts back to the default settings.    When I go to midi multi recording ,select the song,
I cannot access mixer settings  I want to adjust . I did not find this a problem on my Tyros 5.  I'm missing a step somewhere.  Reg

Hello Reg,

I made some basic directions. Maybe they will get you back on track.
Let me know if you managed to save changes to a Midi.

Stijn

Note: I added some instructions.

Hi Stijn,

I also need help the 16 track recording on Genow. I will be playing back some MIDIs I created years ago on Genos and what you shared here will be very useful. So, thank you.

Kind regards,

Nice pictures Stijn.
I see that a lot of users of all models seem to miss the "set up-execute-save" step when they want to change a midi file.
Similar to the "save registration" step, when they want to change something to a registration.

Hi Panos,
You are right. I am one of those who is not very competent when it comes to programming and creating on Genos's 16 track sequencing. Of course there are the manuals to read and go through but like most people I find it too long. I wish there was a simplified document (similar to Stijn's PDF he shared) showing how to create/edit new songs using the 16 track sequencer on Genos.
Cheers,
Murat

This system will not work if you have different voice changes on one track and it is the second or third voice you need to alter the volume on. This must be done as I have mentioned using Step Edit.

Hi Stijn,

I see that in your instructions,  bullet point #4 says 'Touch the Play button'.

Is this correct?   Wouldn't  you normally press the 'Stop' button here rather than 'Play', to ensure that the song position was at the beginning?

Hi Ian,

It is 'The Play' button, that way you can listen to the song and make some adjustments.

But I forgot to mention that after returning to the previous windows, you should press STOP to put the Midi player back at the beginning of the song and that we should not use the PAUZE button, as this will affect the Execute window.

Like Eileen says, this is not the way to go when you want to adjust different voices that are recorded on the same track. You will need to dig deeper and use the Step Edit method.
