Question on PSR 970 Output levels
« on: January 29, 2019, 06:56:58 PM »
Is the output from PSR 970 considered line-level or Instrument level ?
I tried looking up the owners manual as well as the reference manual. Could not find anything.

Hi --

L/L+R, R are line level.

Instrument level, as far as combo amplifiers go, usually refers to guitar pick-up levels which need pre-amplification.

Hope this helps -- pj

At one time, Yamaha had a separate, line level out that was fixed at 1.2 VDC. Surveys revealed that this was rarely used and it was eliminated. You can measure the output with a multi-meter and determine what it is. The level will vary, depending on the adjustment of your volume control. Usually, line out voltage is achieved at approximately 2/3 volume level setting.

Hope this helps,
