« on: November 30, 2018, 02:12:38 AM »
Looking for a hard case fro my T 4.
Appear to be a lot of "fit all" products for sale. Does anyone have one for sale or recommendations.? Thanks

Hi winternotes,

I recommend this case:

https://www.thomann.de/gb/thon_keyboardcase_tyros3_kunststoff.htm?ref=intl&shp=eyJjb3VudHJ5IjoiZ2IiLCJjdXJyZW5jeSI6IjIiLCJsYW5ndWFnZSI6ImVuIn0%3D

The material of this case is 7 mm black plastic (30% lighter than wood). In the past I used that case for my T4, and currently I use it for my T5-61. Im very happy with this case. The only thing is, that the plastic material is a bit more scratch-sensitive than wood. But for me the much lower weight is more important here. :)

P.S.
These "Thon" cases, sold by THOMANN, are made in Germany (by the company "LT-Cases"):

Best regards,
Chris

I strongly recommend this case.  I was the first to have one done for the Tyros 4 and they since have made it available.  It is very light weight only 20 lbs including wheels (which are and optional add on).  The soft cases that are available like Gator case that fit s the T4 weighs 26 lbs, so there is no point in getting one of those.  A number of people on Synthzone have bought this case at my recommendation and all like it a lot.

Will they fit T5 also?

Hi Toril,

in principle, T5-61 has the same dimensions as T4, BUT the front area (near the keybed) is a little different to the T4.

As I wrote above, I use my "old" T4 case also for my T5, but the T5 is not optimally fixed in the front area with this case (which was originally made for T4).

When buying a new case, I recommend one originally made for T5.
