« on: November 25, 2018, 05:38:47 PM »
Hi !
I have a YAMAHA PSR E443 keyboard. Please let me know that can I save a MIDI track (midi song) as an USER SONG in user songs section. It has 10 blank user songs. But, unable to restore midi tracks from USB.
Thank you.

There is no way to do what you want to do on the keyboard itself. It might be possible to do it on a computer using software, but currently there is no software available that is designed for doing it.

Do you really need to import the MIDI song file into a User Song? A User Song is limited to five tracks plus an accompaniment, whereas a standard MIDI file (SMF) can have 16 tracks, 1 channel per track-- or 16 channels on 1 track, depending on the SMF format used. That means you probably would not be able to import an entire MIDI song file into a User Song even if there were software available; at best, you would be able to import only selected channels from the MIDI song file.

You can play the MIDI song file on your PSR-E443 without trying to import it (or part of it) into a User Song. There are two ways to do this: (1) Put the MIDI song file on a USB flash drive, then select and play it from the flash drive. (2) Put the MIDI song on a computer, connect the keyboard to the computer via a USB cable, and use the free Yamaha Musicsoft Downloader program to transfer the MIDI song file to the keyboard's internal memory.

When you press the SONG button to put the keyboard into Song mode, the internal preset songs show up first, followed by the 10 User Songs, then any songs you have transferred to internal memory are listed, followed by any songs that are on the USB flash drive (if you have a USB flash drive plugged in). You can use the CATEGORY buttons to jump forward or backward from one group of songs to another (preset, User, internal, flash), and then use the plus and minus keys-- or the wheel-- to scroll through the songs in the current category.

Note that you do not need to "load" a MIDI song file or SMF similar to the way you must "load" an external style file-- instead, all you have to do is press the SONG button, scroll through the listed song names until you see the one you want, then press the START button to begin playing it.
