SongBook+ with PSR-S975
« on: May 11, 2018, 06:29:49 AM »
Hi,

There's a forum for Genos and SongBook+ but not for S975 and SongBook+. Has anyone gotten SongBooK+ to work with the S975? i.e. switch registrations when you select a .pdf in SongBook+.

Thanks!

What you asked for can’t be done on a PSR. Only keyboards with a hard drive can do so.

You can go the other way — have the registration load the pdf in SongBook — on any model keyboard.

I believe it can work
Better still
get a ‘Bluetooth midi adapter ’ Yamaha MD-BT01
No cable
I’ve just ordered one so I am not able to test it yet.
Some members already have.

Believe what you want, Pino, but it can’t work on a PSR because it has no midi command to select a registration.

I have all my registrations linked to SongBook sheets
I play medleys so this is essential for my work, it works well,

I was hoping that I could work the other way
It’s very easy to change the order of play lists in SongBook

But, if it can’t find the Registration Bank then that’s the end of that idea.

The manual of songbook+ says on page 3, that it works 2 ways with the psr-975.
With Tyros 2-5, PSR-S775 and PSR-S975 keyboards, both  directions of remote control are possible.
With the Tyros 1 and older PSR keyboards, only the direction from keyboard to SongBook+ is available.

Yes, Mels, you are right:

With the new PSR-S775 and PSR-S975, BOTH directions of remote control are possible (in connection with Registrations), while with OLDER PSR-S models only the method "Dummy MIDI file in Registration calls up a 'Song' in Songbook+" is possible. :)

@all
Here the link to download the additional Songbook+ Manual for Tyros2-5 and PSR-S models:

P.S.
For Genos there is a different Manual:

➪ Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that and just did it.
➪ Never put the manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)
