Change the volume of Styles without using Registrations
« on: April 12, 2018, 04:22:27 PM »
Style Creator in Genos does not work like in Tyros to change the total volume in the Style with Boost / Cut .

In Style Creator It says that Dynamics is capable of setting the whole style but it does not work.
You can take variation A, B, C, D, individually, then you will not get to Fill and Break a,s,o.
This feature works in Tyros for the full style directly, but not in Genos.
Anyone who has an answer on how to do? Or do I have to get a Tyros again?

Hi!
No one who tested this problem? "Apply to all channels" does not work...
This program section in Genos is not programmed finished, compared to Tyros.
It's missing a whole lot. Must be reprogrammed by Yamaha.

Hi Pierre,
I don't have a Genos to test and answer your question but the way I see it,
this function is got something to do with the velocity of specific notes in the channel and maybe not for editing the voice of the channels or parts.
E.g. in the bass channel pattern, note C is volume 95 and note G is volume 90 and you want to make all notes of that pattern to be at volume 85.

Maybe if you want to change the volume of the channel/channels you should do it through the mixer in page 121 the same way as we do it in the other models.
E.g. lower the volume of Rhythm 2 channel in Main A or lower the volume of Rhythm 2 channel to All parts(Intros-Mains-Fill ins-Endings-Break)

I have used this feature before with all Tyros and it has worked, to get the same volume on my styles,
Style volumes have changed between different Tyros, especially psr 9000, the style volume was much higher.
This way Boost / Cut styles are very easy to adjust the entire style at once.
Works as an output-volume for the style. But it does not work in Genos to adjust the entire style right away, as it does in Tyros.

Hi Pierre

Could you not just use the No. 1 sliders on selection B.  This increases or decreases all the volumes leaving the ratio intact.

Hi Pierre,

I don't have Genos so I can't try this, but it might be worth checking out.

I have a Tyros4 and I have just checked this out.  On a T4 you only get the additional options 'All' and 'Main/Fill' included in the pop up list for style sections if you press a style section button whilst already on either the 'Assembly', 'Groove' (which includes Dynamics) or 'Channel' pages of Style Creator.  If you bring up the section list on any of the other pages (including 'Basic') only the individual sections are in list!

I realise that the Genos Style Creator screens are different to those on Tyros, so it may also be different in this respect, but have you checked to see if you can open the 'Dynamics' page on Genos first, and then bring up the style section list by pressing a style section panel button?  If the list does appear, does it now contain the 'All' and Main/Fill' options (they are at the beginning of the list on Tyros)?

Regards

Ian
