S975 specs ?
« on: March 03, 2018, 08:56:26 PM »
I wonder if the S975 is available in the shops yet ?

I would like to see a video where all functions and applications are shown.

I also want to know all the differences between the S970 and the S975.

Is the S975 just a simple update or can it be called a real upgrade ?

Your feedback would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks, Babette

Hello

PSR S975 is available in Europe , I don't know about U.S.

I don't see any significant upgrade from PSR s970 to S975.
Maybe I miss something ?

Extra memory ,  live control registrations ,  halfbar Fill in ,  a few voices ,  a few styles .
As a result it's not easy to see differences in videos.

You can see specs and new functions here :

I would call it a S970 enhancement. About 100 more Voices, Mono Legato, save Arp parameters in registrations, more styles, and 50% more expansion memory, etc.  This is just a teaser keyboard.  If you own an S970 you will take a big loss on buying the S975 for just a few improvements.  I recommend waiting for the next PSR (or whatever it will be called) upgrade after the S975 .  I believe it will have even more enhancements / improvements.

Thank you ALL for your feedback.
Very much appreciated.

It looks like most S970 owners have no intention to upgrade.
Apparently most people prefer to wait for another 2 - 3 years.

It may be called something else but it will have all the features of the S975 plus more.  It would be nice to see a PSR equivalent with no speakers with more Live Control knobs and faders.  If that is what Yamaha is working on it won't be called a Genos I think... but a new model of PSR without speakers.  Something in between the PSR S series and the Genos.  It could have a new name/model as well. (not PSR Sxxx)

Genos Lite : To my mind Yamaha want to sell their Genos so they will propably maintain a big gap between Genos and future PSR (whatever they will name it).
