Saving midi file as a registration
« on: February 09, 2018, 10:03:30 PM »
Hi guys,

I've just got my Genos and I'm loving it. I've got a question though. Is it possible to save a midi file song as a registration?
Thanks in advance

Hi Dave --

Welcome to the forum!

No. A registration can save the path to a MIDI file (song) in the USER internal drive or USB drive, i.e., where a MIDI file is located in the Yamaha file system. A registration cannot store MIDI data itself.

Hope this helps -- pj

As PJ said, you don't store things in registrations, you store references to them. Which is probably more information than you need.

If you want a registration to reference a song (midi) file, just tell it that's what you want. After you press the Memory button, ensure that Song is checked. Then press the registration button you want it memorized to. Now your registration will recall the midi file whenever you load it.

Thank you both, I'll try that.
