New Tyros 5 , but Pro player looking for tips from Pro's
« on: January 07, 2018, 03:54:33 PM »
I am a new owner of a Tyros 5, and have been playing semipro piano, KB's, Hammond B3 for years in various bands, mainly jazz, blues, R&B, funk, motown, Classic rock etc., and although I have a Korg PA1x pro 76 from 15 years ago, I did not use it much.  Recently landed a gig as a regular piano player at a restaurant/bar and will be adding another musician/singer to join me, and tossing the Tyros 5 on top of the grand piano as my back up band.  Have started to dive in to the MusicFinder, and in the process of creating my own styles, named as songs, and added to MFD as an entry.  This is pretty time consuming, and am looking for a fast way to get a jump start collection of tunes.  I also use an iPAD with iREAL Pro, and have around 3000 charts available, but also have Songbook +, OnSong etc, and want to simplify my Tyros 5 use, so I am not bouncing around from charts on my iPAD, then searching MusicFinder for a tune (and yes am using the FAVORITES tab).

I am an advanced user, with 40+ years playing, and have a very advanced home studio, so am looking for tips from similar, advanced players.

My current gear includes latest addition Tyros 5 76 that will be my only live KB for my restaurant gig, but would also be interested in any pro players that are using the Tyros with Apple Mainstage/Laptop and connecting external modules to beef up the sounds for "right hand parts"
