Topic: Genos: AltoSax Exp. Pack.

Hi Everyone

Just an update on the latest Genos Expansion Pack upgrades.

The AltoSax pack does NOT now include any Voices.  All there is in the pack is 2 Registrations and i Demo Song.

The voices that the registrations use are now included in the Genos Presets.

Anyone that has not previously bought this one --  Do NOT waste the £23 that are still charging.

Hi Bill, Yes I had discovered the Alto was being loaded from some of my earlier registrations that used the premium Alto (hence it has the same voice nos.)
I also have user voices from the SA2 premium Baritone sax which are picked up by Genos, ie. their voice nos. are the same. So there is no point in spending money on that voice either.
I never installed the premium SA2 Tenor Sax to Tyros5 because the Ty5 preset Tenor Sax, now on Genos,  sounded the same as the Premium Tenor. I don't know how the voice nos. compare in this case.
I still have the premium SA2 Trombone and "will" install the update for that to Genos, since it is not a duplicated sound.

For me trombone and Tenor sax sounds are different (really for trombone, slightly for Tenor Sax)

I have the same problem for SA2 Alto Saxophone expansion. No FunkAlto no PopAlto sound in the folder although they appear in YEM.Nevertheless the Demo Song is working.

I will contact Yamaha.

Tenor sax are quite identical in the preset and the expansion.

They have not the same number of articulations. I suspect only effect parameters are really slightly different.

I have the same problem for SA2 Alto Saxophone expansion. No FunkAlto no PopAlto sound in the folder although they appear in YEM.Nevertheless the Demo Song is working.

You're totally right, I confused between registrations and sounds mainly because Tenor Sax package sound names  are "Funk" and "Pop" too . And I saw these names in YEM for the Alto Saxo packages.

It's really strange that Yamaha do such things. As I bought the SA2 saxophone with my previous Tyros, these packages are free for me.
But Genos owners who really buy them could consider to have been ripped off.
