That's exciting, Frank! Thanks for sharing. I'll think about that in about 2 years when Canada finally gets a decent shipment of Genos keyboards....LOL  ;D

Frank,
can this device hold an iPad Pro 12.9 inches.   if so, that is great. I want two of these.

Also, i want the Genos screen protector.

I looked at these two items on your ebay link.  Unfortunately, i do not understand German.   If there is an option to change the language, i cannot find it for same reason.

Is there an English link and can we buy in USA . . . . ?

thanks in advance.

I use my I pad pro on the music stand as I also occasionally still use sheet music. Genos dose not have those extra holes like Tyros 5 did so to use the device you can also use the music stand.

There are only 4 such device slots at the back of Genos and Tyros, the middle 2 slots for the music stand, the outer pair of slots are for the Genos / Tyros speakers.

The device holders mentioned in this thread require additional hardware to hold objects like iPad Pro / tablet, external monitor etc - more flexible but definitely a lot costlier than the no-cost Genos music stand.

Thanks,
Paul

This device is a great idea. Maybe a bit on the expensive side.

Certainly, more expensive than the no-cost Genos music stand.  However, when you need to carry stuff, this smaller device is much easier than the music stand or the mic stand.   I would prefer to carry this small device to connect my iPad.

If you do not need to carry around, then probably not needed.

Hi,
I have a Yamaha L7 stand for my keyboard. On the back supporting brace there is a tapped hole which could be used to hold a bracket for a tablet. Or just use a G-clamp affair on the brace tube. Local diy shop might have something.

Hi Frank,

1
nice to see you also on this site, not only in Germany.  I do have this item, but I do not dare use it as a microphone boom holder for my very light Behriger condensor.
Do you really think the bushings inside Genos will be sturdy enough not to brake when some "angeheiterter" man grabs the boom in order not to fall. I now have he boom fixed to the keyboard stand, so if anything brakes it is no big issue.

2
There was this discussion on the German site as to whether reg files can be transferred or not. You wrote, in case the set up was ok,  yes. We now know that those who divided their Tyros hard disk into 4 partitions like recommended on the German site years ago (Robert Mueller)  are those who have a problem which seems to be very difficult to solve. Have you encountered and solved that problem in Germany ?

Kaarlo ..

Hi. I am about to test one on my Genos. I will use the mounting with a short 125mm extension tube by K&M.
I will use just to hold small device, as I use Shure SM58, which is really too heavy, and leverage is too great
I'm sure the mount will be ok for small device, but NOT heavy, like mics. It would be ok, but if you catch/knock it, damage could be done.
As an Engineer, I looked at the construction of case in the outer mounting area each side. It is very strong here, as it is on a thick section radius corner and load is spread through bracket/2 pins. There may also be metal/rubber bushing inside, but I have not looked.
I will report back when I tried mine!
I am waiting to order from Thomann, as MusikCity is too slow to UK.

Best Wishes ...

Has anybody tested this device holder with an iPad Pro 12.9 inches in both portrait (vertical) and landscape (horizontal) modes . . . . ?

Currently, i have my iPad Pro 12.9 inches on a mic stand and if this device can hold the larger iPad pro, it would be great to get rid of the mic holder when gigging . . .  one less thing to transport . . .

0.7Kg (1.6lbs) .. Will easily hold the weight, but the 'leverage' is the issue.
The pins and holes wont break, that just leaves the case area or the iPad mounting.

 Maybe Frank tried!

I very much agree with you. Mic booms that someone can "run into"  are going to brake the attachment inside the Genos.   I did trial mount a boom and you could feel the attaching point was not sturdy enough. For mounting the Roland V 7 it seems ok.

cheers

Hi ..

Yes, you have to be careful when the mounting is in use. It may be possible with iPad to use a 'buffer' as extra support. It's good that the mounting position is on a radius, which makes it quite strong area.

Thanks so much for the notice.   I am planning on ordering this one.   Except that i still need to figure out what else i need in addition to this little device.

My understanding is that this device will go into the Genos holes.   My concern is that i have the largest iPad Pro 12.9.   It seems to me that to have this large ipad in portrait (vertical) and landscape (horizontal) mode, there should be sufficient space and probably need the additional tube.

I already have this iPad holder
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1266135-REG/auray_ipu_105_universal_large_tablet.html

So, not sure if i can use this one or need to buy a special one . . .

Need to figure out the set that will work out . . . . they should offer one set already including everything . . . .

Maybe i will write them again.

have a great day.

I am trying to determine the thread measurements on this short tube . . . . the thread that will connect to the actual iPad holder.

https://m.thomann.de/gb/km_7232000155.htm

Is it a male 3/8 or 5/8  ?

I currently have an iPad holder that is a female 5/8.    If the tube is 3/8 i will probably need an additional adapter from 3/8 to 5/8.

thanks in advance.

thanks a lot for your prompt response.

I believe that you are 100% right.   Althought the tube included in the K&M 232 that you mentioned has a length of 175mm and the tube i was looking at has a lenght of 130mm but the thread should be the same at 3/8.    That means i would need an adapter from 3/8 to 5/8.

This is what i am considering ordering to adapt an iPad Pro 12.9 inches to the Genos.   I currently have the iPad on a microphone stand but want to place the iPad on Genos.  That would eliminate the need to carry an additional microphone stand.

I currently have this iPad holder which as a 5/8 female thread.
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1333976-REG/auray_ipu_108_universal_tablet_holder.html

To place the iPad directly on the Genos, It looks like i would need to buy the following:

https://m.thomann.de/gb/millenium_genos_device_holder.htm

2. Short tube
https://m.thomann.de/intl/km_7232000155.htm?i11l=en_GB%3AUS.EUR%3AUSD

I don't recommend this holder. It scratched my Genos (not so visible, but it did it :( ) even if it has a thin sponge glued on it.

I use now on my K&M Spider Pro keyboard stand (for at least 10 years), this K&M Universal Holder and this adjustable tablet holder, also from K&M

Universal Holder it has a very powerfull strength on Spider stand, and the tablet does not make "motions" ...

Regards,
Vali

I own the universal k&m tablet holder..
And a K&m double table stand.
But with `genos’ in the upper position,
And modx 8 in the lower
It doesn’t fit

The genos is to deep, and the tablet holder cant connect
with that depth to the tablestand

I was hoping this would allow me to connect my universal table stand
Directly to the genos...

when you have a chance, can you please send another picture to include the Genos keyboard and the iPad  . . . just to see how everything fits together . . . the Genos, the stand and the iPad, also do you use a microphone for singing ? if so, how do you mount it . . .

thanks in advance.

I mount my extendable boom mic holder (K&M) on the Genos device holder Thomann sells (or Frank)

Fits/works well, and pretty solid.

I use Genos on the Spider Pro lower arms, top are free, and folded. I use the music stand.
😊  I started out with nothing .. and I've got most of it left!  😊

🎹 Tyros 5-76,  now the brilliant Genos 🎹
Genelec 8030C Studio Monitors on K&M stands
K&M Spider Pro Stand, K&M Accessories. I love K&M!

Hi Al.
This one (and this one, not so clear) are the only pictures I have with all mounted. I used my Android tablet only to connect to my Behringer X32 Compact mixer. Right now, I don't use anymore my X32, because I want to sell it to buy something else :) We have a sound team now, the sound system is much bigger, for big events (300-500 people).

Spider has also the connector for microphone stand.

Vali

This might be useful to you. The left is a tablet for my mixer (Behringer XR12) but you can put the Ipad. This stand is home made. The right is the text screen on a flat microphone stand.

Vali and Ckobu

Great pictures.  Your setup looks great, very neat, very orderly.

I wonder if the tablet holder can hold an iPad Pro 12.9 inches in portrait mode . . . due to the distances between the stand, the holder and the keyboard . . .

thanks again.

Hey.
Does anyone use the K&M Baby Spider 18840 together with the Tablet holder K & m 19791 for the iPad Pro 12.9 inch?
is there room enough for that ipad?

Can the carrying arms tilt slightly downwards to have a better overview of the Genos?  see picture

I would have liked to hear this.
Thank you.
