Genos registrations
« on: April 16, 2024, 11:51:22 AM »
Hi
I was wondering if the genos 2 registrations will work
On tyros 5 I downloaded  one but it doesn’t show
Up when pressing registrations I might be doing
Something wrong.    Thanks.  Jim

Registrations have never been transferable between Yamaha keyboards. Styles yes, registrations no.

You need to convert a registration to use it in a different keyboard. Most people use Murray Best's YRM program.

Cheers,
Fred

@ibrox2
Hi Jim,

Note that the latest version of Murray Best's Yamaha Registration Manager (YRM) program available here on Psrtutorial (V5.3) is only compatible up to Genos1.

To receive the current Genos2 compatible version (V5.4), please contact Murray Best directly (via PM here in the forum or via email). For Murray's email address see the following link:

Best regards,
Chris

Thanks for your feedback, Jim! Here is some additional information for you:

Note that YRM version 5.4, which you can obtain directly from Murray, is also delivered as an update.

Installation is done as follows:

- Make sure the YRM program is not running.

- At least YRM V5.1 must be installed (or V5.1.1 or V5.3).

- Extract the received zip file "YRM 5.4.zip" anywhere on the PC.

- Select and copy the included files "MidiServices.dll" and "YamahaRegistrationManager.exe".

- Open the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\MBestSoft\RegManager5\ and paste the two previously copied files from the clipboard there. Confirm overwriting the two earlier files with the same name with YES.

- Start the YRM program and check whether “Version 5.4” is displayed in the bottom left of the main window.

- Complete! :)

Best regards,
Chris
