Score on external monitor
« on: November 21, 2017, 07:25:19 PM »
Hello,

Instead of continuing the topic on the external monitor , I started a new topic for this specific question.

Apparently the 'little moving ball'  in the score would not work on the external monitor ?
It is there on the touch screen but not on the external monitor ?
The used adapter was a 'Plugable UGA-165'. One of the Yamaha list for compatible adapters.
Can anybody confirm this ?
Has somebody tested this already ?

Regards
Etienne

Hi Etienne,

The moving red ball in the Score screen works on the Genos built-in touch screen, but not quite for the external display.

I tested a USB display adapter based on DisplayLink DL-195 chipset, and you tested with a USB display adapter based on DisplayLink DL-165 chipset.  Both show the same issue.

Here is a quick video showing the moving ball of the Score screen works on built-in touch screen, but not quite on the external display:

The Lyrics screen works fine on both the built-in touch screen and the external monitor.

Thanks,
Paul

Thanks Paul for the reply.
Two different adapters -> same issue. It's a software problem from Yamaha.
Hope Yamaha will fix this in a next update ...

Do you have a non Demo song with score on it?  I can test it for you.

Any midi file can be used to test it.

Hi Etienne,

I tried another MIDI song "Bridge over troubled water", with the same result:

No the problem is not fixed.

Something else :
Having worked a few months without an external monitor connected , I noticed yesterday (while trying the external monitor again) that the Genos is a lot more slowly to screen touches when an external adapter is connected.
I don't know if there is a difference between version 1.10 and 1.20 for this slowness. I suppose not. I think this was already in the version 1.10.
