Revo Drum Cleaner
« on: November 17, 2017, 06:45:24 PM »
Hello everyone,

I have downloaded the Revo Drums Cleaner software
today, to try out the Genos factory styles on my Tyros.
It cleans up the drums and removes the irritating noises, so that you're left with a clean drum sound.

It may be useful to those who have not purchased a Genos and wish to enjoy or try the Genos factory styles on another Yamaha keyboard.

Just install the software on your PC, choose the style that you want to clean, push the "clean" button, and you're done.
Save to USB, plug into keyboard, and give it a try.
I have cleaned 10 styles so far, and the drums sound great.

You can find the software here:

Best Regards,
Pianoman.

And you may have to revoice the mega voice guitars and basses as well in your registrations.
Then you're ready to go.
Piece of cake.

Best Regards, Pianoman.

Just finished cleaning the "Super Groove" style, from the R&B section of the Genos.
It sounds exactly like a very well known Stevie Wonder song.
I only had to revoice the Clavs to the Tyros ones.
I'll be up all night with this. I've cleaned up 35 styles so far.
This should keep me busy for a few days though.

Best Regards,
Pianoman.

Hi Jørgen.

Thanks for the great software. You really rock man.

I am going to work on these styles one by one and probably save myself a huge pile of money in the process.
I am considering waiting a couple of  months for the T5 prices to drop to an acceptable level and maybe get myself one.

I honestly don't see much difference in the sound quality of the T5 vs Genos.
I've been listening, over and over, with my eyes closed, to a video whose link I'll post below, and found the difference to be very insignificant.

I've always been a practical, patient, and analytical person, who tries not to be guided by emotions when making an important decision.

I consider emotional thinking to be a luxury that no one can or should afford.
Let's see what happens over the next few months vis a vis the T5 and the Genos.

Thanks again for the software and keep up the good work.
Very much appreciated.

Hi Revo Drummers!

New version of "Revo Drum Cleaner" at http://www.jososoft.dk/yamaha/software/rdclean/index.htm

Now: "Cleaned drums original note data are automatically saved in a csv file in the same folder as the cleaned style file."

Enjoy!

Thank you Jørgen for your great work.

I have downloaded and used the original Revo Drum Cleaner to clean the entire Genos Styles.
Would it make much difference if i were to download this new version and redo the styles again?
Thanks again for all your great software.

Best Regards,
Pianoman.

Hi

Thanks for your kind words.

The core method is NOT changed.
No need to redo!

Just added
- a save to file to log the changed data. This is useful if you want to reverse the process, or you want to modify some details manually. ver 1.1
- an input file type filter to show style files only in the File Open dialog window. ver 1.2

Great stuff, Jorgen. Where can we download the Genos factory styles? I must have missed that.

Hello Lee.

You can find the styles using the link below. Courtesy of Snicker740

By using Jørgen's Revo Drum Cleaner,

http://www.jososoft.dk/yamaha/software/rdclean/index.htm

you will be able to get a picture of which styles are new, and which styles are from older keyboards.

In fact I have been counting, and it seems that almost 80 percent of the styles are from older keyboards, but have been reworked to make them sound more authentic.

Obviously, even after cleaning with the drum cleaner, you will probably not get the same sound quality of the Genos,
due to the more advanced technology employed on the Genos.
But it will give you an idea of the styles within the Genos.

I am now enjoying the styles here at home, but I don't think that they would be usable for me yet in a professional capacity.

But there are geniuses like Drake, Onacimus, and others, who are very good at style conversions, to make them completely usable on older keyboards.

Here they are.

You're most welcome Lee.
Though it is Snicker740 who uploaded them.
He is the one who deserves to be thanked.
