Genos/tyros 16 track sequencer
« on: October 09, 2017, 08:27:58 AM »
i just wondered if anybody uses the 16 track sequencer to try and write a track and build a song that way
the styles aside that is another avenue to be explored and enjoyed
i know CalUKGR and others have made some really nice tracks
it really just shows you how versatile the yamaha arrangers can be
and another way to enjoy making music

Yes I do that often but prefer to work with a DAW instead of using the built in keyboard 16 track sequencer.

The onboard sequencer is good for 'blocking out a track', especially if you want to use the Tyros's arranger functions and capture all the performance attributes (variation changes, etc) into a midi file. I do this, then import the saved midi file into Cubase and - bingo - you have all the arranger tracks separated out automatically and all fully-editable in Cubase. I then build on that foundation track inside Cubase, editing as and where needed and adding other instrumentation (such as soft synths or VSTis - or even more voices from the Tyros itself). I'm hoping my new Genos will play nice with Cubase, too!
