Creating and Submitting personal website.
« on: August 10, 2017, 01:59:43 PM »
Hi Everyone,

Has anyone designed a website for themselves and submitted it to Google for indexing?
I am trying my luck by using a web site called Wixa, the site assist with designing and producing a professional  web page.
I have got to be honest, it came out ok and I am very pleased with it.
The reason I am asking members about submitting it to Goggle for indexing, is that they say it can take 4 weeks or 4 months for it to go live on Google. Has any member carried out this function and used Google, can they let me know how long they waited before their
web page went live.
Thank You
Steve

It has been years (over 10) that I constructed a web page for a Nascar site I ran. I did submit to google and several other search engines back then as well as joining several what were called "Ring of sites".

The thing is, your site will be picked up by what they call "crawlers" that search everything in the world even if you do nothing. Your objective is to get folks to make your site popular by getting hits to the page. The more hits, in theory, your page moves up as one to the top searches.

You might try putting up videos at YouTube and then direct those people to your site, as an example of how to get more hits to your page.

If it is a music web page you could also post some songs at Soundcloud and then direct those people to your site as well.
