« on: August 06, 2017, 06:33:36 PM »
Hi,
I am ordering a used Tyros 5 and it is coming soon.  I am wondering if it will be
able to read all S970 styles?  Thanks for your time.

You will find most of the 970 styles on the Tyros 5 with the addition of some vocal ones.

If you have registrations made on 970, i do believe that they don't  work om Tyros 5. Tyros 5 is older than S 970 that's why..

There are some Voices unique to the S970 that are NOT in any other keyboard.  The DJ styles in fact use some of those unique Voices for both the styles and the DJ Multi Pads.  I know this for sure because I have converted my s970 EDM styles for the S950 and Tyros 5... both of which are lacking those unique Voices and I had a difficult time finding reasonably good substitutes for the S950/Tyros conversions.

Hm...  Very interesting Joe.  So the 10 DJ styles have nothing to do with your new edited EDM styles or they're part of it?  If they are brand new styles from S970, are you planning to convert for Tyros 4/5 users? :)  Thanks.

My EDM styles are more than just edits, they are custom styles I created.  I converted some of the DJ Multi Pads to play normal (no chord progressions).  And those S970 DJ Multi Pads use Voices unique to the S970 so I had to find substitute Voices that would work on both the S950 and T5 versions.

There are no DJ styles in my collection... not much to my liking... never heard a DJ play anything like those styles BTW.  I have no  plans to convert the DJ styles for other keyboards.
