Hi Eileen & Patrick,

I cannot open the file with extension .RGT.

Can you either send in .JPEG or Excel or Word Format??

Thanks and regards

I cannot open the file with extension .RGT.

The files are Registration Banks!

They can be loaded into the Registration buttons of your 970 and then you can select and listen to the sounds in the buttons.

If you like one of the tweaked voices, you can save a copy of it (which includes the tweaks) from the relevant Voice Selection display, or you can open it's 'Voice Set' to see the settings - use the 'Compare' button to see changes to the original voice used.

Regards

Ian

  Hello Eileen and Patrick,

  Thanks,

Hi dv01,
I am not sure whether Eileen's reg. will load on TYROS5, it probably depends on which keyboard it was made on. The quickest way would be to try it  ;),  however what is your intention? Do you need to tweak a piano so that you can play it as a pianist (full keyboard with 2 hands) and get a better feeling that it sounds more like a real piano than the default settings give you? If so it might be quicker to provide a user voice that is already pre-tweaked for you to try.
I find on Tyros's the LiveGrand has always given a fuller more rounded sound than the ConcertGrand and it is possible to modify it so it gets much closer perhaps to what a pianist might prefer given the physical limitations of the keyboard, lack of "furniture"/ sounding board and without going to the next stage of multi-sampling and increasing layers etc.
I have attached a user voice file to this post. To evaluate it properly set Tyros5 (or other Tyros's which have the LiveGrand) to Full Keyboard mode and ensure you use the sustain pedal frequently with left hand  chording and arpeggios as you should detect a fair amount of resonance which is helped by the DSP used. If that is too much you can try it with the DSP off (turn the DSP panel button off.)
Note: DSP and Variation buttons are on by default. the latter is important otherwise you will get an unwanted fast Tremolo effect.

The sound can be made brighter by pushing the mod. wheel forward. If with the default settings it is not mellow enough for you try going more negative on the brightness in the sound tab of voice set.
I have no feedback how the attached will sound on the S970 but IMO it is worth a try. (until someone says it's a disaster :o).

dv01 You're welcome :)

Thanks Bernie,  good to know it also works on the S970.

As a general comment it should also work on Tyros 4 and probably Tyros 3.
