The keyboard used in this 'Photoshop' nonsense is actually a Tyros1!    ;)

Even Yamaha, who are renowned for squeezing the absolute maximum out of old parts and technology, wouldn't stoop to exhuming this!  Or would they?   :o

The new keyboard, whatever it is called, may, or more likely not, take into account customer's wants (this is Yamaha after all!), but whatever it is,  the hardware is already 'set in stone' (or more correctly, 'plastic'),  so at this late stage, I really can't understand the reasoning behind the various 'speculative' and 'wish list' threads about it which are currently clogging up the forum!  Some users actually seem to think that Yamaha gives a sh#$ about what they want!

I find it somewhat sad and boring to be honest!

I am very interested to see what the new board offers, but until I see something concrete from Yamaha, I can wait.   ;)

Regards

Ian

No, it's CLICKBAIT.

By watching the video, you make the wallet thicker of the person who made the video. And you stimulate more people to make more videos like this.

You can read my post on this subject, or Wikipedia, if you want more information.

Hmmm, to help financing my Genos, maybe I should create a YouTube channel with fake Genos models. Or a fake video about the PSR-S790 and PSR-S990...  ::) :o ;D

You are absolutely right, Maarten !

The REAL Genos pictures and/or videos - as well as the specs - will hopefully be shown after September 10, 2017.  :P

Looks more like the Tyros 2 with its green buttons and registration buttons in the middle. What a load of rubbish. Certainly would not sell it to me.

LOL right, I forgot the centered performance buttons.
I would actually like to see them at that place again.

About "late wishes" for next keyboard I think it's okay to write stuff like that whenever it comes to mind.
I agree that same people should consider the possible amount of time it actually takes to make a new keyboard though ;)

Bachus,

I read your post.  I thing a lot of what you describe can be done on the current Yamaha Arranger.  If you have listened to the DJ styles, they offer a different use for Main Sections where we could program Sections with chord progressions in them.  This can be done with Multi Pads also.  And of coarse Multi Pads can play a single time and stop or be looped.

By using registrations, you can accomplish much of the variation you describe in your post... it would just be implemented slightly different than what you describe.  What's really missing are 2 major things.  Serious real-time control (2 knobs was a good start) and the database you refer to (and I have referred to).   So I have been creating my own in the form of a Multi Pad Phrase Library and Style Phrase Library.  It's time consuming and a lot of work... but it's what we need to have a work flow similar to a workstation like the Motif or Montage.  I can't speak to other brands of keyboards since I only have owned Yamaha keyboards but have owned sound modules by Roland, Korg, and E-MU (with 16 live arpeggiators), and now a Motif Rack with 4 live arppegiators plus 12 more channels for additional patterns.
