Help! My Chord Fingering has changed
« on: July 05, 2017, 11:08:46 AM »
My registrations all use Multifinger for the chord settings

I just loaded a new registration from USB which has A1 Fingered settings

But now when I go back to my previous registrations, even though the chord settings still show Multifinger, the keyboard plays a slashed chord.  Previously, when I played an F7, the screen showed F7, but now it shows F7/c

Can I get back to my previous settings?

I checked the Function Menu > Midi.  The setting had changed from "All Parts"

I set it back to "All Parts"

Everything is good again

Hi Derek,

The MIDI template is usually the cause of this problem.  It's actually due to having one or more channels set as the 'ON BASE NOTE' in the MIDI template in use.  Unless you actually provide a bass note on those 'On Bass Note' channels (from a pedal board for example), it just uses 'C' for the bass, and shows any chords other than those in the key of 'C' as 'slashed' chords.

However the MIDI Template and settings are not saved in a registration.  So whatever it was that has changed your MIDI setup, it wasn't the registration with the AI fingering mode!

Thank you Ian for your explanation

I guess I must have inadvertently changed the MIDI at some point

But at least I now know how to fix the problem

Thanks again
