Can MIDI Drums act as the S970 notes?
« on: March 17, 2017, 10:55:38 AM »

Hello!

I have an electric drum called the Roland "tpk-4kp"
and it would be cool if i am able via midi to make that
the pads will act as the keyboard (i.e snare = C1) so
when creating styles i can just play on the drums,
put it up on my keyboard and there it goes some nice
drum beats!

mendel,

It depends on whether you can assign the correct note numbers to the drum pads.  (look in the tpk-4kp manual)

Then you will need to connect the drum pads via MIDI cables.  MIDI Out on drum pad to MIDI In on the S970.  Finally, you may have to create a special MIDI configuration on the keyboard so the S970 receives on MIDI channel 10 for either Style Part or Song Part.
