Not sure what you mean extra measures.  But if you want to delete something at the end of a song/midi you can do that right on the keyboard recorder/sequencer. Just like any standard recording device.  When you get to part you want to delete hit pause button. You can get to that part also by doing a fast forward and make a note of where it is on the counter.  Then press record and pause at same time.  Check to see that all channels are on and red. Turn down master volume. Then hit start/play button.  Let it run until you get to end of song.  Everything will be erased from starting point to the end.

Oz:

In MixMaster Open the file, goto List View and select the bank measures and then the Edit/Delete menu item. Then select the remaining events and use the  Process Events/Move Selected Events to Start at an MBT.

Just to add a word of warning in case you aren't already aware: Do not delete the apparently blank measure that's at the very beginning of a MIDI file, as it actually contains the MIDI messages that select which voices and effects to use and set the various parameters. At least, that is how Yamaha does it-- the notes don't actually begin until the second measure, and the first measure is used for setting up the keyboard for the song or style.

Thanks to all for your reply.

When you press record at the end of the measure of a midi song on PSR-970 all the channels show " REC ON " except the channel 4 which I assume is a default button for the melody line.

So I have an option to either change the channel 4 to any other empty channel or is there a way to have channel 4 " REC ON " so all the blank measures can be deleted at the end of the song??

After all others show up as on. Press and hold record and play/pause and then click on channel 4.
