Mix Master - question
« on: February 19, 2017, 06:23:03 AM »
Hi!
This is my first topic, and sorry for my English.
I'm the owner of keyboard PSR-S670. I tried to change voices of few styles from Tyros 4 using application MixMaster. Thanks Michael Bedesem for this software. I've used option "MultiProcess". When processing was ended and I opened style in VoicesView, many of voices still was unchanged although option "revoice" was checked. I just needed click Auto Revoice All to set valid voices. There was no problem if I used option "Process the Opened File" but I'd like to use "Process Multiple Files". I don't know if I'm doing something wrong. I also would like to change voices in OTS, but I haven't found any option for this. Both methods don't change OTS voices.

Thank you for you report.

I checked and there is a bug in the current version that excludes a number of instruments from Multi Processing that are processed in File Processing.

I will be out of the office this morning, but I will look at it upon my return and advise here and via an email.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Regards,

Michael

I have now updated MixMaster 514  to address the following issues:

* Fixed an error in Randomize Note Lengths and Randomize Start times.

* Modified the portamento control definitions in Insert Controller.

* The cause, and not just the existence, of common errors  is now generated for these errors:

Error initializing output device-it is already in use and cannot be reused.
 Playing the sound failed.
 Only one load allowed.
 File not found.
 Open File (destination) not successful.
 Unknown file format.
 Bad File: Error loading file.
 Not enough memory or resources.
An invalid parameter was passed to this function.
 Invalid sysex.
 Invalid event type.
 Invalid event data.
 More than one sequence number.
 Bad key  #.
 Bad event number.
Delete not allowed for NoteOff and similar events.
 Bad type of controller-event.
 Bad value of new note.
 Bad parameter for smpte offset.
Transpose steps result in bad note-values.
 Bad quantisize parameters.
 Eventlist out of range.

* Edited Lyric View Insert on how to paste text from clipboard.

* Auto Revoice in Process Multiple Files was not updating for PSR-S770, PSR-S670, PSR-S970, XG, or GM.

To Install the updated version:

Please use Start/Control Panel/Programs to remove any existing version.

     Then download http://psrtutorial.com/MB/zips/MixMaster514.msi

Double click on the downloaded file.

Please let me know if you encounter any problems.

MixMaster does not revoice the OTS settings. You can use Jorgen's OTS Editor for this: http://www.jososoft.dk/yamaha/software/otseditor/otseditor.zip

Regards,

Michael

Thanks Michael for your great program.

I'm wondering if this information should be posted in Essential Extras/M Bedesem's Utilities, so players of other models can upgrade their PCs.

I have released this version to assist the user. But this version has not undergone the usual testing/vetting by the very experienced beta testers which have participated in other releases.

I will update the web site when others have had some experience with it.

Michael

Michael, just a thought regarding which version is currently posted on the PSR Tutorial site... Perhaps you could have two versions posted at the same time, the most current "stable" version as well as the most recent "beta" version? While that might conceivably confuse people as to which version they should install, it might also encourage more people to install and test out the beta versions for you. :)

Michael:

As it turns out, the newest version is usually only announced on the Forum where people have more experience and can contact me easily by post of email, with the current 'Released Version" is posted on the Utilities page of the website (http://psrtutorial.com/MB/bedesem.html). Both are always available.

Typically the newest version is moved over in a few weeks at most.

Event with the best of testing, problems do get revealed in the early weeks of a new release. This is typically the result of the program being checked in similar ways with similar test files. Along comes a user with a different type of file(perhaps from another instrument or missing data that is 'always' in PSR files), and the program goes into deep space.

Midi files are a challenge because they can be so varied and users can have atypical applications.

Regards,

Michael
