Upward and downward style compatability
« on: January 08, 2017, 05:07:02 AM »
I have a PSR 3000, and need to upgrade. I have about a thousand STY styles that I have accumulated over the years. I notice I cannot
play some styles from the newer keyboards (S900 through S970), BUT the question is will these older STY styles work on one of these newer keyboards? If not, can you tell me which generation they will not work (S900, S910, S950, or S970)?? I am sure this has been answered many times BUT I could not find. I am new to the forum.   Thanks

Hi Dave

As a general rule styles are backward compatible but not forward.  i.e. Older style will play on the newer KB's but new styles will not play on older KB's.

Thanks Bill,
I am thinking of buying a S770 (or if my ship rolls in a S970), so as I understand most of my styles from my 3000 will work
(though I understand some might need tweeking) - do I have it right?
