do the same sounds on the psr 770  sound improved on the sx900? For example , the whiter shade organ on the 770 sound exactly the same as the whiter shade organ on the 900 (assuming it exists on the sx900...just meant as an example)?

Well, *all* the sounds from the s770 are on the sx900 (and in fact, all of the s970 sounds are there; all of the s970 sounds are on the sx700, even!)
Anyway, if you don't select a new voice, playing the 'old' voices, of course it will basically sound the same (but through much better speakers),

You have many more voices to choose from on the sx900, and the exclusive voices (ie not on the s770/970) are the highest quality voices on the sx900

Genos works same way, it has a complete set of Legacy Voices (I assumed these are from Tyros5), and has its own Genos voices.
MIDI files and styles files from previous generation automatically use Legacy voices, no need for any revoicing.
This "backward" compatibility feature is GREAT.
