PSR-SX900/SX700/SX600 / Re: AKX10
« Last post by Lefty on April 16, 2024, 01:06:45 PM »

The AKX10 I had seemed to play a bit quietly.  I tried to get some support, but was unable in the U.S. , So I sent it back, and bought the SX900.

The AKX10 is a great keyboard, especially for the price I paid. $750.  I thought the interface was a bit better than the Yamaha.  My SX900 sounds better though, and has a few more features.  The two keyboards are SO much alike, I wonder why you would want to try this?

If I were buying for the first time, the Medali is a great choice, but now?  I'd cancel the order if I could.

Just my 2 cents...

Craig

I ordered a AKX10. I will keep my SX900 until I try the Medeli. If I keep the Medeli, my bride said I should sell the PSR. I may only have one TOY at a time. Sure. Pray for me.

Hi
I was wondering if the genos 2 registrations will work
On tyros 5 I downloaded  one but it doesn’t show
Up when pressing registrations I might be doing
Something wrong.    Thanks.  Jim

Registrations have never been transferable between Yamaha keyboards. Styles yes, registrations no.

You need to convert a registration to use it in a different keyboard. Most people use Murray Best's YRM program.

Cheers,
Fred

That is insane! I've never seen one with switching voltage (N.A. or H.K.) without an external transformer! Thanks for the photo! That's definitely not from N.A, odd that the TRSMS02 *was*!

Hello,

Your welcome!

Greetings.

Hi Fran,

It's not difficult to use the Quote function:

Hi Chris,

Thank you so much for the instructions.

Best regards.

Hi Pj.

Did some searching on eMMC device for internal data storage (MTFC4GACAJON-1M) and you got me worried now. Is this the same memory in the TYROS and Genos? Are we confirming built-in obsolescence with the SX700 and SX900 of maybe 3-5 years?

I found that life expectancy is between three and five years and then I saw this:

"The typical lifespan of eMMC NAND flash memory in terms of read/write cycles is between 3,000 and 10,000 cycles. However, this can vary depending on a number of factors, including: The type of eMMC NAND flash memory used. The temperature at which the eMMC is operated."

This means that each flash cell can be written to and erased 3,000 times before it starts to fail???

Can you please shed some light on this find. Is the USER memory part of this and if so is every search or indexing added to the cycle?   Tell me that I am in left field on this one please>>>>>
