Title: Tyros L7s extension brackets
Post by: TyrosTempest on February 25, 2023, 03:41:54 PM
Hi I’ve just bought a Yamaha stage piano and wanted to place my tyros 5 above it on the L7 stand.
Are there any brackets you can buy to do this or do you have to go with the traditional x stand.
I seen somewhere on the internet that someone did put a 2nd tier on their L7 stand but for the life in me I can’t seem to find it. Thanks Ernie.

Hi, maybe a better option would be a Z stand I use PULSE PLS00452 from Amazon, what I also did was add GBL small castor wheels 25 mm on to the bottom for easy manoeuvrability.
I still use the L7 at home, but the PULSE stand is ideal for tacking to the caravan.

Hope this is useful

I’ve done it now thanks I’ve managed to convert the L7s stand in to a 2 tier.I bought the extension arms from gear4 music and managed to attach them to the back of it.   Many thanks Ernie.

Ernie, could you please let me know which ones you purchased, as I would like to do the same.
I have never been able to find ones that can go on the square pulse stand, they all seem to be for round X stands, not 50 mm square tube like on the pulse.

Thank you for any help you can give me

Many Thanks

Andy

Andy, have you tried the Stagg keyboard stands. They are pretty stable, and also sell additional kits for an extra keyboard, Mike boom etc.
I have the MXS-A1 and very pleased with it.

Keith, the stagg stand is good, but the Pulse stand is better in the way the height is adjustable in that the stagg only uses friction to keep the legs at the height you set whereas the Pulse has actual pins that go into holes on the legs as well as the screw friction bolt like on the stagg. The stagg depth is not a lot where the Pulse is 50Cm, as I can't find arms to go on the 50 mm square tube I may just build a platform that can sit on the stand for the second tier for a more organ style look.

Hi Andy b I purchased the ones from gear4music. They were £19.99 it’s a lot of messing about to be honest.
I drilled 2 holes in the back of the L7s stand and put the bolts through that way. There is still a slight wobble
On it though I was just testing it to see  if I liked it and to be honest it’s not for me as you have to reach over the
2 keyboards to turn over the sheet music.and it’s to far away to properly read..

        Many thanks Ernie

Ernie, Have you not tried an iPad or similar for the sheet music, I got an Ugreen adjustable tablet stand of Amazon its anglepoise
style it's ok but can wobble a bit. Holds the iPad fine, tho.

Regards

Andy

Hi Ernie

Pretty sure that this is very similar to what Andy is describing.

I got this one from Ebay for about £8 and have to say that it's really decent quality for the price, and I was pleasantly surprised.

I converted the top to hold a keyboard lamp cannibalised from an old anglepoise style lamp I no longer used, and I have my own tablet on a bracket I made myself supported with some 20mm tubing.
