Hi Tom,

Under the following link you will find a list of most of the file types used on Yamaha arranger keyboards:
>>> https://www.psrtutorial.com/forum/index.php/topic,51311.msg401461.html#msg401461

The Preset Style types on the PSR-SX900/700/600 are as follows:

- Pro style (.prs)
- Session style (.sst)
- Free Play style (.fps)
- DJ style (.scp)

If the styles are COPIED (to a USB stick or to the internal user drive), the original file extensions are retained. As far as I know, when a style is newly SAVED in the Style Creator, it always gets the extension ".sty".

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris

The same as before you downloaded them. Downloading does not change file extensions.

Cheers,
Fred

No. What extension(s) did the files have? Chris has shown you the list of acceptable extensions.

Cheers,
Fred

Hi Tom,

By default, not all file extensions are displayed in Windows. If you haven't already done so, please uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types" in "Folder Options > View":

If there is a file with the extension ".pdf" between the downloaded styles, then it's definitely not a style (it's just a PDF file that you can view in a PDF reader).

If you are talking about the ICONS that are displayed for Style files under Windows: These depend on the respective program with which the file extension in question is currently associated. I recommend to associate all Style file extensions under Windows with the same program, e.g. with "MixMaster":

Hi Tom,

The extension ".pst" (used by Yamaha for Pianist styles) is also used by MS Outlook. If it bothers you that this extension shows up as file type "Microsoft Office Outlook" file on Windows, just associate it with another program (as already mentioned before).

To do this, right-click on such a .pst file and select "Open with". Then select the desired program (with which the file type ".pst" should be opened in the future when double-clicking in Windows Explorer), make sure that the check mark "Always use this app to open .pst files" is set and click OK .

Best regards,
Chris

What happened when you tried them on your keyboard? That's all you have to do. Have some faith, man.
